The Chevrolet Camaro
Is an automobile manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand, classified as a pony(Is an American class of automobile launched and inspired by the Ford Mustang in 1964) car an some versions also as a mucle car(Is a term used to refer to a variety of high-performance automobiles). It went on sale on september 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang.

Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro.
In an era of pony cars, Chevrolet introduced this model in two versions: The Camaro Rally Sport and the Camaro Super Sport(SS). This last had a 5.7 lt. V8, and one optional 396 inch³ (6.5Lts.), were made for U.S. customer class passion for speed, whith the idea of running in the summer and store it in the winter because it was made in coupe and cabrio version. This tradition never ever continued despite the great decline in the mid-1970s, with the rise in fuel prices. This model was made famous in the Trans-Am racing and the National Hot Rod Association.

Beginnings
The Camaro debuted on September 29, 1966 as a 1967 model, sharing the design of semi-monocoque front frame with the 1967 Chevy Nova. Were available nearly 85 factory options and 40 dealer options, including three main packages.
The RS is an appearance package that included hidden headlights, modified tail lights, RS emblems, chrome trim and low side. It was available on all models.

The SS package included a V8 engine of 350 inch³ (5.7 lts) with 288hp and 396 inch³ (6.5 lts) V8 with 330hp big block similar to the Chevrolet Corvette but with smaller displacement was also available. The SS offered air intakes in the non-funcional hood, special side stripes and badges on the grill SS front fenders, gas cap and horn button. It was possible to order both the SS and RS to receive a Camaro RS-SS.

2nd Generation
Introduced in February 1970, and sports a contoured body that was adopted classical models to appeal to modern buyers. The 1970 Camaro was again the Z/28 high compression 350, now powered by a 360hp. In 1973, Chevrolet was labeled as a stop maximum power 5.7 liter engines with power of 250hp in the models were sold from that year.

3rd Generation
The 3rd generation Camaro was produced from 1982 to 1992. These were the first Camaro´s to offer modern fuel injection, Turbo hidramatic four-speed automatic transmissions, five speed manual transmissions, 15 or 16 inch wheels, a standar OHV 4 cylinder engine, and hatchback bodies.

During this generation, the Camaro was redesigned by adopting a similar appearance to the present, with a front wedge and an optical depth in the grid group. The engines begin to optimize seeking a reduction in consuption, trying not to lose energy and power, for which this model was a made famous in the days of the pony cars.
4th Generation
The models came out from 1993 to 2002, continued to pursue the objectives set for the third generation. The models had a more pronounced wedge, giving the feeling of arrow. The modl stood at 4.9 meters and the base model came with a 3.4lts engine and 160hp, but the Z/28 version, featuring a high power factory supported by the model at the beginning of 1993, had fallen remained enough compared to previous models, goes on a 5.7lts, 275hp.

Camaro today (2010)
In 2009 came to light, the new Chevrolet Camaro that was adapted to their way to new markets and customer requirements, equipping standar, for example a set of airbags and traction control system. The engine included in it´s highest range, a V8 with detachable cylinder 6.1lts that granted a power of 426hp. While it was possible to opt for a mor prudent option, an engine of 304hp six cylinder.
